HOUSE OF MERRY
Service Rates & Policies
A little magic. A little fine print.
Welcome to House of Merry! I believe every occasion deserves a little extra magic, whether it's a holiday, birthday, anniversary, shower, or simply an excuse to make your space feel special.
Before the decorating begins, here's everything you need to know about booking, pricing, sourcing, setup, takedown, and the little details that help everything run smoothly.
THE MERRY MENU
The Helping Hand — $75/hour
A little extra help goes a long way. This service is designed for clients who need an extra set of hands with decorating, arranging, setting up, or taking down decorations.
A two-hour minimum applies to every booking. Additional time is billed at $75 per hour, subject to availability and approval.
A Little Merry — $425 flat
Up to three hours of decorating and styling for smaller spaces, seasonal refreshes, and intimate celebrations.
The Merry Works — $795 flat
Up to five hours of decorating and styling for larger projects, multiple areas, or more involved installations.
The Grand Merry — Starting at $1,200
For larger celebrations, extensive decorating projects, or events requiring additional planning, sourcing, or assistance. Pricing is determined through an individual quote based on the project's scope, location, timeline, and staffing requirements.
All service rates cover the labor and services specified in the booking or approved quote. Decorations, supplies, rentals, specialty equipment, and other outside expenses are not included unless expressly stated.
Prices are subject to change. Confirmed bookings will honor the agreed service price unless the client requests and approves additional work.
BOOKING & PAYMENT
All services are subject to availability.
A booking is confirmed once the required booking information, payment arrangements, and service agreement have been completed and accepted.
Payment is collected through the designated Wix checkout or invoice process. Any applicable balance, payment deadline, or additional charge will be identified before it becomes due.
The Grand Merry requires an approved custom quote before the project is confirmed.
Every booking requires acceptance of the applicable service agreement. Submission of an inquiry or quote request does not guarantee availability or reserve a service date.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Life happens. I get it.
For standard services, the following cancellation policy applies:
-
Cancellations made three or more days before the scheduled service receive a full refund of the decorating service payment.
-
Cancellations made less than three days before the scheduled service are subject to a 30% nonrefundable charge. The remaining 70% of the decorating service payment is eligible for a refund.
-
Once work has begun, payment for completed work and committed service time is nonrefundable.
-
If I cancel a service that I am unable to provide, payment for the unperformed decorating service will be refunded.
Custom projects may have additional cancellation terms disclosed in their approved written quote or agreement.
Previously approved third-party purchases, special orders, nonrefundable vendor charges, and other committed expenses are separate from the decorating service refund and remain the client's responsibility to the extent permitted by law.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method when possible, subject to payment processor timelines.
RESCHEDULING & CHANGES
Need to move your decorating date? Please reach out as early as possible.
Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. Requests made less than three days before the scheduled service may be treated as a cancellation and new booking under the cancellation policy.
Changes to the decorating location, requested areas, design direction, materials, or project scope may require an updated quote or additional charges.
No additional paid work will be performed without client approval.
DECORATIONS & SOURCING
Your vision. Your decorations. Your merry little masterpiece.
Clients may provide their own decorations or request assistance sourcing additional items.
When sourcing is requested, the client must establish a decorating budget and allow reasonable time for shopping, ordering, and delivery.
All décor and supplies purchased for a client must be paid for directly using the client's approved payment method or purchasing arrangement. I do not independently finance client purchases or operate on a reimbursement basis.
All decorations and supplies purchased for a client belong entirely to that client. House of Merry does not retain ownership of client-purchased décor.
Product availability, delivery dates, vendor pricing, and product quality are determined by third-party retailers and suppliers. I cannot guarantee the availability of a specific item or the arrival of an order by a particular date.
Any returns, exchanges, warranties, or product defects are subject to the retailer's policies.
Shopping, sourcing, assembly, or preparation time may be included in the service scope or charged separately, as specified in the booking or approved quote.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Decorating services may include arranging client-provided décor, styling indoor spaces, setting up seasonal displays, decorating trees, arranging tablescapes, and preparing designated areas for celebrations.
The exact services provided depend on the selected package, available time, and agreed project scope.
Package hours are maximum service durations, not guaranteed completion times for an unlimited amount of work.
If a project requires more time than the selected package allows, additional services may be offered subject to availability and client approval.
Unused package hours are not refundable or transferable.
INTERIOR DECORATING ONLY
House of Merry specializes in interior decorating and event styling.
I do not provide exterior decorating, roofline lighting, gutter installations, or work requiring unsafe heights or specialized climbing equipment.
I may decline any task involving unstable surfaces, unsafe ladders, electrical hazards, structural modifications, or other conditions that present an unreasonable safety risk.
House of Merry does not provide licensed electrical, construction, carpentry, or structural installation services.
Clients are responsible for arranging qualified professionals for work requiring those services.
PROPERTY, FRAGILE ITEMS & INSTALLATIONS
I treat every home and decoration with care.
Clients are responsible for identifying fragile, valuable, sentimental, antique, or irreplaceable items before work begins and communicating any special handling requirements.
Clients should also disclose delicate surfaces, existing damage, installation restrictions, and areas that should not be disturbed.
Decorating may involve temporary hooks, removable adhesives, ribbons, ties, or other nonpermanent installation methods when appropriate and agreed upon.
Some installation products may leave residue or affect paint, wallpaper, or other finishes. Clients are responsible for confirming that proposed attachment methods are suitable for their surfaces.
I may refuse to install or handle an item if I believe doing so could create an unreasonable risk of damage or injury.
House of Merry is responsible for damage directly caused by its negligence, subject to applicable law. I am not responsible for preexisting damage, defective products, normal wear, or damage caused by conditions outside my reasonable control.
Nothing in these policies limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
CLIENT ACCESS & PREPARATION
Clients must provide safe, timely access to the decorating location at the scheduled appointment time.
Before arrival, the designated work areas should be reasonably clean, accessible, and ready for decorating.
Please ensure that decorations, supplies, and necessary materials are available unless sourcing has been included in the agreed service.
Children and pets should be supervised and kept away from active decorating areas, tools, cords, and fragile materials.
Delays caused by unavailable access, missing materials, unsafe conditions, or unprepared spaces may reduce the decorating time available within the booked service.
Additional time or return visits are not included unless separately approved.
SETUP & TAKEDOWN
Decorating and takedown are separate services unless expressly included in the booking or approved quote.
Takedown is optional and must be requested and scheduled separately.
The Afterparty is House of Merry's takedown service. Applicable flat-rate pricing and time limits are displayed when the service is selected or quoted.
Takedown includes carefully removing and organizing decorations within the agreed scope. Storage containers, packing supplies, transportation, disposal, and off-site storage are not included unless specifically arranged.
Clients are responsible for providing suitable storage containers and identifying where decorations should be placed.
Takedown availability is not guaranteed unless the service has been separately confirmed.
ADDITIONAL HELPERS
Most House of Merry services are performed by me personally.
For larger projects, I may arrange additional assistance when appropriate. Any additional staffing charges will be disclosed in the approved quote or service agreement before they are incurred.
TIMING & COMPLETION
I make every reasonable effort to complete projects within the scheduled service window.
However, the amount of decorating that can be completed depends on the size of the space, complexity of the design, condition and availability of materials, and any unforeseen site conditions.
If the full requested scope cannot reasonably be completed within the booked time, I will prioritize the agreed areas and discuss available options.
House of Merry does not guarantee that a particular design will exactly replicate an inspiration photograph. Every space, material, and installation presents its own characteristics.
SERVICE AREA & TRAVEL
House of Merry serves the Greater Austin metropolitan area, including surrounding communities, subject to scheduling and availability.
Travel outside my standard service area may require an additional fee. Any applicable travel charge will be communicated before the booking is confirmed.
Parking fees, venue access charges, or other location-specific expenses may also apply when disclosed and approved in advance.
WEATHER, EMERGENCIES & UNFORESEEN EVENTS
Safety comes first.
Severe weather, illness, emergencies, power outages, inaccessible properties, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control may require a service to be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled.
When possible, I will work with the client to find a suitable alternative date.
If House of Merry cannot perform a prepaid service, the unperformed service portion will be refunded, subject to applicable law and any separately approved, nonrecoverable third-party expenses.
PHOTOGRAPHY & PRIVACY
I may request permission to photograph completed decorating projects for my portfolio, website, or social media.
Photographs of a client's private home, identifiable personal belongings, family members, or private event will not be published without appropriate permission.
Clients are welcome to decline photography or publication without affecting their service.
AGREEMENT & POLICY UPDATES
By booking a service, clients acknowledge the applicable service description, pricing, cancellation policy, and signed or electronically accepted service agreement.
These published policies supplement the service-specific agreement. If a custom quote or signed agreement contains different terms, the expressly agreed terms control, subject to applicable law.
House of Merry may update its rates and policies periodically. Updates do not retroactively change the terms of a confirmed booking unless both parties agree.
ONE LAST THING
My goal is to make decorating the fun part of your celebration, not another thing on your to-do list.
A little preparation, clear communication, and realistic expectations help make that possible.
HOUSE OF MERRY
You make the memories. I'll make it merry.
